My Other Services & Skillsets

“Work is Love made visible.” Kahlil Gibran

Like every human, I carry a wide range of skills gathered through life experience, opportunity, and plain curiosity. We don’t have to be good at just one thing, nor do we have to be perfect at everything. Life experience gives us the chance to offer the full expanse of what we know to others and to our communities.

Below is a list of the many skillsets I have to offer for hire. Keep in mind, I may not always complete these in the quickest, most or most efficient way—but I will always focus on clear communication, transparency, respect, professionalism, and a genuine drive to make every client absolutely thrilled with the result. My fees vary and I work with my clients to ensure we have a fair exchange.

You may find someone with more experience, slicker marketing, or formal credentials, and a bigger fee and that’s okay. I’m here for the folks that believe we don’t need to turn every person’s skills, experience, talents, and hard-won wisdom into something that must be certified, licensed, or controlled by institutions. These are called folk skills and are skillsets that machines will never be able to imbue with the same passion, love, and dedication.

Across cultures and throughout history, communities have valued elders and skilled workers for the knowledge tyhey carry—wisdom refined by real life rather than paperwork. When those skills are claimed and owned by corporations, organizations, or the wealthy, or reduced to disposable gigs in an economy that treats people as interchangeable, communities lose something essential. Culture and people thrive when these abilities remain in the hands of those who actually live and work with them.

My Background & Experience

My skillsets come from almost 50 years of living life to its fullest, navigating and overcoming obstacles, and prioritizing connection, community, and people over profit and outside “success”. I intentionally have chosen not to become “certified” in my skillsets. I know this may not appeal to every potential client, but it will appeal to the ones I am fated to connect with and serve. My hope is that my reputation, care, and professionalism shine through.

How I Gleaned My Skills

  • Top-performing Speech & Debate team member, coached high school and middle school Speech & Debate
  • Theatre-kid/mom and theatre-lover, radio ads and voiceovers, hosted podcasts, experienced interviewer
  • Public speaker at various events since I was young — I even presented to investors on Wall Street
  • Involved in organizational communications, copywriting, corporate marketing and event planning since 1997
  • Vice-President of local Arizona Birth Network (2007-2012), experience writing and winning grants
  • A life-long love and reverence for nature, the wild, and solitude. I am a defender of nature and the Earth, a river rat, a sun lover, and a student of life and this stunning desert landscape. My Dad taught me how to grow a garden and can our own food, my Mom taught me to be resourceful and advocate for oneself, and both parents gave me a love for storytelling and a deep respect for elders, children, and the less privileged.
  • Being a single mom has gifted me many skills such as: multi-tasking, managing household dynamics, teaching accountability and responsibility without shame or punishment, being adaptable, cultivating magic and memories with little resources, being present, leading with the heart, and never giving up.

“And what is it to work with love?

It is to weave the cloth with threads drawn from your heart, even as if your beloved were to wear that cloth.

It is to build a house with affection, even as if your beloved were to dwell in that house.

It is to sow seeds with tenderness and reap the harvest with joy, even as if your beloved were to eat the

fruit.

It is to charge all things you fashion with a breath of your own spirit,

And to know that all the blessed dead are standing about you and watching.” – Kahlil Gibran
